To enable a cheat, what a player needs to do is press enter. Upon seeing the message box, type the Star Craft: Brood War cheat code then press enter again.
Cheat and Effects:
- show me the money - 10,000 Minerals and Gas
- whats mine is mine - increase minerals by 500
- breathe deep - increase vespene gas by 500
- something for nothing - upgrade one level attack and unit defense
- staying alive - allows you to continue the game after completing the mission
- operation cwal - instant upgrades, lets you build faster
- the gathering - free unit spells, infinite psionic ability
- modify the phase variance - allows you to build anything
- food for thought - supply limit will be ignored when building units
- medieval man - research capability, free unit upgrades
- Noglues - no psionics to opponents
- power overwhelming - invincibility, indestructible buildings and ships
- there is no cow level - instantly win and skip the mission
- black sheep wall - reveal the entire map
- Ophelia - mission select will be enabled
- radio free zerg - play Zerg’s song
- terran (and mission number) - select terran missions
- zerg (and mission number) - select zerg missions
- protoss (and mission number) - select protoss missions
- game over man - instant defeat
- war aint what it used to be - fog of war will be removed
- xTerran (and mission number) - input ophelia code to jump to brood war terrans mission
- xProtoss (and mission number) - input Ophelia code to jump to brood war protoss mission
- xZerg (and mission number) - input Ophelia code to jump to brood war zerg mission
There are also Star Craft: Brood War cheats and secrets that do not need cheat codes typed in.
- Play secret zerg level - you need to beat Zerg on level 9, The Reckoning, in 25 minutes or less.
- The Nuclear critter – if you see a critter, click on it till it responds to you for about 14 times, after that, the critter will explode without damaging any of your units nearby.
- Super nuke – while the game is loading, type xmy66p five times to the super nuke.
Aside from Star Craft: Brood War cheats you can also take advantage of the game glitches.
- If you dark archon is upgraded with mind control, you can max out the population and exceed the limit for the protoss population. After doing so, all the units used with mind control will go over the population, but has no other effects.
